Ordinance would be necessary and to give tho
Court direct power it should be added to 14
(1); or to cover both theso ordinancen should
be included in the term "the Grdinance".
No doubt a great donλ can be done
through the .egistrar in Longkong, but I
appreciate we desire of those responsible
for the probity of british companies in China,
to have direct control of the fulfilment of
their obligations by such companion, and of
their own register on which a China Life i
surrnco Corspany would be inscribed. it would
be better that the Registrar in Changhai
should have the power to strike a company off
the register of chinn companies and the Suprem
Court for China should control this power than
that the registrar in hongkong should have to
be involved. There are other powers as to
winding up which it would be as well to be able
to exercise here.
